The pediatrician in me says avoid bumpers – don’t want to expose baby to risk of suffocation or falling, no matter how minimal the risk. It’s my baby after all! But woe to me, the crib designs are so cute. It is a tough decision to have to make for the sake of practicality, but when it comes to babies practicality should reign supreme!

We compromised and did a breathable bumper. Not quite as cute, but something. And she did need it for a while when she started pulling up (in a friend’s crib sans bumper a fee times we came in to her screaming to find her foot or leg stuck in the bars) but I actually think I’m going to try taking it off soon. Now she just pushes it down for fun. Heh.
